Flood Preparedness Plans
Flood
Preparedness Plans are detailed documents
that contain an action plan for flood
preparedness in a particular area. In
Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam, Flood
Preparedness Plans are developed and
implemented by the provincial and district
authorities and run for one to three years,
until they are reviewed, and then updated
for the following year.
The plans contain structural and
non-structural methods for flood
preparedness, and the specific roles and
responsibilities for all organisations
involved in flood preparedness (i.e. search
and rescue teams and local NGOs). The
following plans have been completed by the
target authorities in Cambodia and Lao PDR
with technical assistance from the Asian
Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), under
the Flood Preparedness and Emergency
Management project.
