The objective of the project
is to develop a synthesis report on Nepal’s
major hazards, carrying out desk review of
already available reports, carry out an
assessments of vulnerability to natural
hazards, potential losses at the national
and sub-national levels, to develop a
detailed economic analysis using loss
probability modeling of the country’s risk
with projected economic losses form
forecasted hazards, and map high risk
geographic regions.
The project will be executed
in close collaboration with Norwegian
Geotechnical Institute (NGI) and Center for
International Studies and Cooperation (CECI).
The study will be carried out in
close association with relevant government
institutions such as Department of Hydrology
and Meteorology, Ministry of Environment,
Science and Technology, Nepal etc. and other
stakeholder institutions. Funding support
for the study is from the World Bank.
