The national strategy is to identify and
capture specific components and elements
(documents, reports, lessons learned,
successful urban disaster mitigation and
preparedness practices, public awareness
campaigns, etc) from each of the city
demonstrations that would enrich the
regional knowledge base and strengthen the
“network” on urban disaster mitigation and
preparedness facilitated by ADPC.
The city demonstration projects have
commenced activities since January 2006, so
the role of I&N is in capturing and
disseminating disaster mitigation knowledge
to various groups interested in promoting
mitigation and preparedness at community,
city and national levels.
The country partners will be developing
methodologies and tools that will help the
program in capturing, building and
disseminating the knowledge on urban
disaster mitigation and preparedness to
various target groups.
