PROMISE has
designed a capacity building program, which
progresses from the regional level to
national and community levels. It is
expected that enhancement of capacities of
state and local government entities and
other key related governmental units, NGOs
and private sector institutions is achieved
to ensure that practitioners and decision
makers possess the tools and methodologies
needed to prepare for, respond to, and
develop plans for long and short-term
mitigation of hydro-meteorological
disasters.
In addition, PROMISE partners are to impart
the knowledge gained in the capacity
building programs to the partners as well as
to the communities they work with, thus
making them better able to prepare for
and/or to withstand the occurrences of
hydro-meteorological disasters in the
region. They will be conducting national
training programs on specific topics.
