FORECAST APPLICATIONS (CFA)
The Climate Forecast
Applications (CFA) program aims to
develop locally-appropriate climate
information tools and capacity to
apply in Indonesia and the
Philippines to mitigate the impacts
of droughts, floods and typhoons. It
employs a two level approach: 1)
carrying out targeted demonstration
projects to explore and refine
methods, and 2) identifying and
stimulating national capacities to
scale up the application of the
methods so that they can be applied
elsewhere. The program builds on the
results of the
Extreme
Climate Events program
(1998-2003)
