GEOSPATIAL WEB DEVELOPER

 The overall goal of the Geospatial Information Department of ADPC is to increase uses of geospatial technology, data, and information by countries in Asia for supporting decision making related to disaster risk management and climate resilience. COMMUNITY RESILIENCE SPECIALIST

The Community Resilience Specialist will be the key focal person for the "Building Resilient Urban Communities" BRUC Project in Yangon, Myanmar. The Geospatial Information Department of ADPC is seeking qualified candidates to fill its Risk Assessment Specialist position. We are expecting candidates who have backgrounds in structural/civil engineering or one of the technical fields required for hazard assessment such as hydrology (e.g., for flood hazard assessment), geology, and seismology. The Geospatial Information Department of ADPC is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the Capacity Development Lead position. Further details are provided in subsequent sections.

The Capacity Development Lead is the one of the key positions in the SERVIR-Mekong hub. S/he will take a leadership role in the development and delivery of all capacity development activities such as training, hands-on co-development engagement, and online learning. S/he will maintain an active network of academic institutions in the Lower Mekong region, but also will seek to establish contacts with universities and research institutes globally. S/he will manage internship programs already established with universities such as the University of Twente and Chulalongkorn University. The SERVIR-Mekong Capacity Development Lead will also work closely with the counterparts from the other SERVIR hubs, NASA, and USAID and contribute to the global SERVIR capacity development strategies and plans. SCIENCE AND DATA LEAD

The Science and Data Lead is the principal technical expert in the SERVIR-Mekong hub and the primary technical contact with the NASA§s science team. The Science and Data Lead reports directly to the SERVIR-Mekong Chief of Party. The main program in need of support is a 5-year program on Building resilience to inclusive and climate-adaptive disaster risk reduction in Asia-Pacific (BRDR Program). The program will explore entry points, develop and test effective frameworks and draw upon the existing bright spots for upscaling and integration of gender equality and social aspects into DRR and climate change adaptation (CCA).
