5th International Course on

 BACKGROUND

Disasters, natural or man-made, foreseen or without warning, have varying health effects and consequences.  Survival rates of victims depend on a range of factors, including the ability of hospitals and health care facilities in general to handle the sudden influx of mass casualties and how well prepared they are to handle such emergency situations. Recognizing the need of hospitals to plan for emergencies, a group of experts in the field of health emergency preparedness in Asia have been working with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) to develop and conduct Hospital Emergency Preparedness and Response (HEPR) courses over the years.

 COURSE PURPOSE

The HEPR Course is designed to assist health personnel, both administrative and medical, to prepare health care facilities and personnel to respond effectively to internal or community emergencies that involve large numbers of casualties.
