How to Get to AIT Campus
AIT is located 42 km. north of Bangkok (16 km. north of
the Don Muang International Airport) on Phaholyothin Road.
Transport from the Airport is available from the Limousine
service (Baht. 600, US$ 16) or Taxi service (Baht. 200-250).
A Taxi from central Bangkok will cost a minimum of Baht.
300 depending on traffic conditions at the time. Alternatively,
two air-conditioned bus routes terminate at AIT, No. 29
and 39. Maps of Bangkok, AIT vicinity (9Kb) and Campus
(26Kb) are available.
Working Hours and Holidays
The regular working hours at AIT are from 7:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. Exceptions are the Library, AIT Center, Medical
Center and Bookstore. AIT normally takes the same official
holidays as the Thai Government. Extra holidays are taken
to compensate for official holidays falling on Saturday
or Sunday. In addition, there is an official week-long
break from the end of December through New Years' Day.
More information is available from the AIT Events Calendar.
Temporary Accommodation
Temporary accommodation can, if necessary, be arranged
at a Bangkok hotel. A single room at a first-class hotel
would cost at least Baht 2000 daily. Accommodation at
the AIT Center Hotel and Conference Center in the campus
is available only for AIT staff, faculty, students, alumni
and immediate family relatives. Accommodation units include
single rooms, twin-bed rooms and suites. These are sometimes
used by short-term Faculty. Information about longer-term
accommodation for students and faculty/staff is available
as is information from the Housing Office.
