Project brief:

1. Advocacy and Development of Guideline for mainstreaming DRR into sector recovery 

   • Guidelines on mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction in Education, Health and Shelter recovery

   • Advocacy workshop on Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction

   • Consultation-cum-technical meetings with government agencies and other concerned agencies.

   • Workshops on usage of the Mainstreaming Guidelines
     Report on recommendations to promote usage

   Status

   • Advocacy workshop on Mainstreaming DRR into Recovery was organized on 4th June 2010

   • Consultation-cum-technical meetings to discuss interim draft of Guidelines on mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction into Health and Education were organized in July 2010 and August 2010 respectively.
      

2. Capacity building of the focal points of related ministries of Myanmar on AADMER and SASOP

• Identified focal points for AADMER and SASOP from concerned departments and ministries of Myanmar

• Training for Capacity building of the focal points of concerned ministries or department of AADMER and SASOP

• Development of training curriculum on AADMER and SASOP in consultative mode

• Table-top simulation exercise organized

• Technical assistance and capacity building of Relief and Resettlement Department on AADMER and SASOP, the focal point for ACDM in Myanmar

Status

• AADMER and SASOP have been translated into Myanmar

• Draft orientation curriculum on AADMER and SASOP developed

3. Gap Analysis and Recommendation on AADMER and SASOP implementation in Myanmar

   • Perceived challenges or gaps in implementation of AADMER and SASOP in Myanmar will be identified

   Status

•  Scheduled in October 2010.
