Regional (all DIPECHO target countries i.e. Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Philippines, Timor-Leste and Viet Nam); pilot activities in Philippines and Viet Nam.

Results

1.   Enhanced leadership role of NDMOs in the institutionalisation of community-based disaster risk management (CBDRM) into the socio-economic development process in four countries (Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Viet Nam).

2.   Improved national capacity in the integration of CBDRM into the planning and programming of local development for better disaster risk management through the implementation of pilot projects in two selected countries of Philippines and Viet Nam.

3.   Improved regional knowledge on integration of CBDRM into socio-economic development process through consolidating experiences of PDRSEA phases at the local, national and regional levels and exchange of experiences among regional CBDRM practitioners

4.   An improved mechanism for dissemination of tools, methodologies and experiences to all key regional stakeholders and enhanced capacity of DIPECHO partners to design and implement community based projects and initiatives.

Activities related to Result 1 (4 countries)

1.1 - Enhance the application of strategic planning and management approaches for promotion of CBDRM

1.2 - Strengthen the partnership of NDMOs with practitioners forums

1.3 - Strengthen capacity of NDMOs to monitor and report progress on CBDRM implementation

Activities related Result 2 (Philippines, Viet Nam)

2.1 - Formulation of the framework for pilot projects through participatory planning

2.2 - Consultations for development of work programmes and strategies to support CBDRM

2.3 - Development of detailed work plans for implementing the pilot projects

2.4 - Implementation of the detailed work plans by local authorities

2.5 - Training of local authorities

2.6 - National advocacy workshops with development policy makers

Activities related Result 3

3.1 - Synthesise regional experiences on promoting of CBDRM at the local and national levels and by regional organisations

3.2 - Research on the role of CBDRM in poverty reduction

3.3 - Regional conference on CBDRM in the implementation of HFA (5^th DM Practitioners Workshop)

3.4 - Publish findings of the above in a consolidated report for wider dissemination

4.1 - Information products

4.2 - Development of web-based CBDRM course and delivery of training course

4.3 - Participation in at least two international fora to promote CBDRM and PDR-SEA
