This Case Study titled "Climate-inclusive Hazard Assessment: A Key to Risk-informed Urban Planning" explores the urgent need for incorporating climate change projections into urban hazard assessments, focusing on medium-sized cities in Southeast Asia. It describes one of the interventions of the "Urban Resilience to Climate Extremes in Southeast Asia (URCE)" program by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in My Tho and Nam Dinh cities in Viet Nam with financial assistance by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). An atlas of climate-inclusive hazard maps was developed to aid in resilient urban planning for the two cities. These assessments help these cities anticipate and mitigate the impacts of future climate-induced disasters, enhancing infrastructure resilience, guiding land use, improving emergency preparedness and contributing to the overall urban resilience.
