The sixth issue of the CARE for South Asia quarterly newsletter offers expert insights on climate adaptation through climate-resilient policies, strategies, decisions, and investments through discussions and at the same time answers questions on how to chart solution pathways for sustainable development. From discussions on how societal decisions can cause environmental damage, ways to navigate climate change in the Maldives to an expert briefing on land elevation data and re-evaluating coastal risks, this issue highlights the need for gender inclusion and development of resilient infrastructure for effective climate adaptation.
The “Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CARE) for South Asia” project is supporting the region in building resilience to climate change by improving the availability of regional data and knowledge, developing guidelines, tools, and capacities, as well as promoting climate-resilient decisions, policies and investments across key sectors. The five-year initiative is being jointly implemented by Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and the Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES), with support from the World Bank.
