The psychological impacts of disasters are often overlooked despite the long-lasting trauma suffered by disaster survivors.

"Beating the fear: helping disaster survivors overcome trauma," explores how a Mental health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) trainer's workshop, conducted in 2011 by Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) with support from the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave graduates the skills they need to support the psychosocial needs of those they are treating.
