Recognising the importance of regional economic resilience and particular vulnerability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to disasters, ADPC’s iPrepare Business launched a regional project in late 2014 to strengthen the disaster resilience of SMEs in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The project has ignited not only large enterprises’, but also SMEs' mind as well as increased commitment of government agencies and other key stakeholders to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurs to undertake risk reduction activities. This initiative is supported by ADB’s Integrated Disaster Risk Management Fund, financed by the Government of Canada, and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMS) through the Deutsche Gesellschaft fr Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) within the framework of the Global Initiative on Disaster Risk Management (GIDRM).
