The Training Course on Water ResourceManagement (WRM) is developed to respond to the needs of the Office of theCivil Service Commission (OCSC) in enhancing the knowledge, skills andexperiences of the strategist officers and coaches under the Program onStrategist Development on Water Resource Management under the pilot project incollaboration between OCSC and the Office of the National Water Resource(ONWR).

The OCSC serves to promote thedevelopment of civil servants and government officials. It develops a system ofmanpower management in the government to become an effective national strategicdriving mechanism. Since the course is intended for strategist officers andcoaches, and Thailand needs to effectively manage its water resources given thecontinuing rise in population, urbanization and demand for agriculture, thetraining course is not only timely but relevant.

The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center(ADPC) was commissioned by the OSCS to develop and manage the training programgiven its technical knowledge and experience on the subject, obtained throughits work and collaboration with countries in Asia and the Pacific. Furthermore,ADPC’s partner institutions, which extend beyond Asia and the Pacific, rendervaluable support on various thematic disciplines, including Water ResourceManagement (WRM).
