As part of support provided from the Rivers State, the UNITAR Port Harcourt Project Office plans to implement a specialized training course on Flood Emergency Management. The aim of the five day course is to train flood managers on how to apply scientific, practical, and internationally accepted fest practices during a flood emergency.
At the end of the training, flood managers will be able to develop a flood emergency response framework for the state and delivery better service to the public. The expected outcome is a reduction in lives and property lost to flooding incidents.

Field trip to flood prone sites in the state
Visit to the offices of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)
Final assessment and presentation of framework to Rivers State
