Special Leadership Program in Sri Lanka

Grant and Program Objectives:

To strengthen existing DRL capacity and leadership in Sri Lanka, in partnership with University of Peradeniya
To support University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka to institutionalize disaster resilience leadership where necessary
To support the network of global disaster resilience leaders through mentoring and facilitating a regional network of disaster resilient leaders that foster collective learning and resource sharing in Asia

KEY ACTIVITIES

Facilitated and promoted disaster resilience leadership at the national level in Sri Lanka, including the implementation of a Nation Safety Day Exhibition/Special Leadership Program focused on Disaster Resilience Activities
Developed and desiged publication with 3 case studies in 3 languages
Provided technical guidance for DRL programming that has been established at University of Peradeniya
Promoted the DRL fellows alumnae network as a learning and sharing platform in Sri Lanka and ASEAN region
