Strengthening Leadership in Disaster Resilience

This program Objective is:

To strengthen existing DRL capacity and leadership in Sri Lanka, in partnership with University of Peradeniya
To support the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka to institutionalize disaster resilience leadership where necessary
To support the network of global disaster resilience leaders through mentoring and facilitating a regional network of disaster resilient leaders that foster collective learning and resource sharing in Asia

KEY ACTIVITIES

Facilitate and promote disaster resilience leadership at the national level in Sri Lanka, including the implementation of a National safety day Exhibition/Special Leadership Program focused on Disaster Resilience Activities, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Asian Tsunami
Develop and design a publication with 3 DRL case studies in 3 languages
Provide technical guidance in DRL programming that has been established at University of Peradeniya
Promote the DRL fellows alumnae network as a learning and sharing platform in Sri Lanka and Asean region.
