Introduction

Great strides have been made in disaster risk reduction since the 2004 Tsunami. The Tsunami Global Lessons Learned Project (TGLLP) was created to ensure these lessons, and lessons from the previous decade prior to 2004, wouldn’t be forgotten. The “Disaster Recovery Toolkit” is the final culmination of this 10 year project and has recently been completed by the Tsunami Global Lessons Learned Project Steering Committee (TGLLP-SC) with technical support from  Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC). The toolkit was created for practitioners responsible for implementing recovery projects in disaster stricken areas. It provides a ‘how to’ guide on development, implementing and managing complex post-disaster recovery programs. To celebrate this significant event ADPC and the TGLLP will hold a launch ceremony on Tuesday, 10 February 2015 at the Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia. The event is scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 12:30.
