ADPC and KSDMA Formalize Partnership to Enhance Disaster Risk Management

The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) signed an institutional Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 19 March 2025 in New Delhi, reinforcing ADPC's collaboration at the state level in India.

Signed by Mr. Aslam Perwaiz, Executive Director, ADPC, and Dr. Sekhar Lukose Kuriakose, Member Secretary, KSDMA, the agreement focuses on enhancing disaster risk management through capacity building, climate resilience initiatives, policy development, and knowledge sharing.

The signing took place in the presence of Shri Rajendra Singh, Member & HoD, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and the current Chair of ADPC.

Dr. Kuriakose stated, "KSDMA has collaborated with ADPC on several initiatives in the past, and this MoU formalizes our ongoing partnership."

The leadership of ADPC and KSDMA reaffirmed their commitment to disaster resilience and preparedness through this partnership at the signing ceremony.

Mr. Perwaiz added, "We look forward to building on our existing engagement with KSDMA to support disaster risk management efforts in Kerala."

This MoU reinforces ADPC's dedication to working alongside state-level institutions in India to advance risk reduction and resilience-building efforts.
