The Board of Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) has unanimously selected Aslam Perwaiz as ADPC’s the Executive Director (ED)! Aslam brings a wealth of experience in disaster risk reduction and a dynamic vision for ADPC future, ensuring continued growth and success.
Aslam has been an integral part of ADPC since 2005. Currently serving as the Deputy Executive Director, he successfully overseen numerous initiatives that have significantly contributed to ADPC objectives and growth by supporting countries in Asia and the Pacific in becoming more disaster resilient. His extensive knowledge, innovative approach, operational efficiencies and proven leadership skills made him the final choice to lead ADPC into its next chapter.
Mr. Aslam has substantive work experience since 1993 from more than 20 countries in Asia, the Pacific, and Africa with a mix of leadership and technical expertise in developing, managing, and delivering high-impact programs in the context of economic analysis, sustainable development, environment, disaster risk reduction, and climate resilience.
Holding a master’s degree in Statistics from India with on-the-job training in disaster risk management, he has been involved in various global and regional initiatives on disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, business continuity planning, and digital resilience.
