Information for enhancing disaster resilience: high-level dialogue on engaging media in disaster risk communication

Bangkok, Thailand – ADPC hosted a first-of-its-kind MediaLogue on 25 July in Bangkok, Thailand, which was attended by media organizations, UN agencies, and other partners who shared experiences and challenges in strengthening the role of media in disaster risk communication.

Recognizing priority areas for disaster preparedness planning

Multiple locations, Bangladesh – ADPC conducted field surveys and validation workshops across 4 Bangladeshi cities during the month of September to assess local disaster vulnerabilities, and also helped revise the Functional Master Plan and Detailed Area Plan for another city to conduct sector-specific studies on disaster risk sensitivity.

Enhancing leadership skills to build resilience to disaster risk

Bangkok, Thailand – Through participating in a five-day training course, 14 senior personnel have enhanced their leadership skills in reducing the risk of disaster. The training course on “Leadership in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)” was held on 8 – 12 July, 2019 at ADPC’s headquarters in Bangkok.
