Manila, Philippines – Manila, Philippines, October 2024 – The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have reaffirmed their long-standing commitment to enhancing disaster resilience across Asia by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership marks a significant milestone, building on over four decades of collaboration to safeguard vulnerable communities from the increasing threat of disasters in the region.
Ha Long, Viet Nam – ADPC attends the observance of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) and ASEAN Day for Disaster Management at Bai Chay Secondary School in Ha Long, Viet Nam. This event was organized by the Viet Nam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority (ADDMA) of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on 13 October 2023 in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Hanoi. This was attended by the ministers and senior officials of Disaster Management organizations in the ASEAN region, ASEAN Secretariat and international organizations.
Islamabad, Pakistan – Training on Community-Based Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation was held for development partners from Aga Khan Agency for Habitat Pakistan (AKAHP), Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), CESVI Foundation, Concern Worldwide, LASOONA Relief and Development Organization, National Integrated Development Association (NIDA), and Welthungerhilfe (WHH). The workshop took place from August 5-8, 2024, in Islamabad, Pakistan.
