1. Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management Track:

Embark on a transformative journey to address climate change and disaster risks. Explore the interconnectivity of Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM). Learn to integrate CCA and DRM, frame problems from different perspectives, devise innovative solutions, influence policies, and enhance risk communication. 2. Water Stewardship for Resilience Track:

Deepen your understanding of the critical role water stewardship plays in preserving biodiversity, addressing climate change, and ensuring water and food security. Explore the interdependencies between these aspects and learn effective strategies for sustainable water management and biodiversity conservation. Enhance your skills in facilitating multi-stakeholder processes, communication, advocacy, and conflict resolution. Become a water steward and champion the value of wetlands and water resources.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Upon completion of the course, you will:

• Get to know the impacts of climate change on ecosystems, water and food security.
• Acquire a solid understanding of Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and their interconnectedness.
• Comprehend the concept of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and its significance in ensuring water security.
• Recognizee role of ecosystem services in supporting water and food security
• Develop skills to frame problems and engage stakeholders in addressing disaster, climate and water risks.
• Strengthen your facilitation skills and become familiar with tools for multi-stakeholder engagement.
• Learn how to effectively integrate CCA and DRM approaches.
• Enhance your ability to influence policies and decision-making for CCA, DRM and IWRM
• Explore intervention tools to propose solutions for resilience-building.
• Learn how to promote sustainable water management practices, raise awareness about the value of wetlands, and contribute to the preservation of water ecosystems.

FOR WHOM IS THIS COURSE?

This training program is designed for: Managers, policy makers, researchers, consultants and specialists involved in climate change, risk management, water and wetland management.

Professionals working in universities, national research institutes, or development programs of government and non-government organizations (NGOs).

Requirements

You need to:

• Have at least a Bachelor level qualification or equivalent educational background;
• Have at least three years of professional experience;
• Be fluent in spoken and written English.

THIS COURSE IS TAUGHT IN AN ONLINE FORMAT

Our courses are currently taught online and follow this format:

Online pre-course assignments to ensure that you have acquired pre-required knowledge, understand the technical requirements of the online / hybrid learning.

Interactive plenary sessions where we share content, facilitate exchanging experiences, challenge each other through debates and discussion. During those interactive sessions we work with a number of online tools like Mentimeter, Jam Board and Mural.

Group work where you and other participants work jointly to answer specific questions and / or complete an assignment. The content and skills acquired during the group work will be applied to a concrete case. Using back casting, each group will be guided and challenged to find innovative solutions for the identified problems, which will be presented at the end of the course.

Individual assignments where you will read literature, watch videos, do exercises and take quizzes. These assignments are an essential part of the learning and most of them count on getting the certificate. They are meant to introduce or deepen knowledge and make the link between theory and your own situation.

• We offer coaching trajectories where we support you one-on-one or in small groups to review your individual learning paths in the course and help with any basic questions you may have.
