Mr. Aslam Perwaiz, Deputy Executive Director of Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) visited the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) Headquarters yesterday and met with Mr. Abdul Razak Raheem, Assistance Commissioner and Director, Planning and Organization Department. This is in continuation of ADPC’s ongoing discussion with the ASEAN Secretariat and AHA Center to update them on ADPC's ongoing activities and explore the possibility of its engagement in the ASEAN region.

The ASEAN region as a whole and the Member countries, in particular, provided ADPC the opportunity to promote meaningful engagement of science in policy development and policymakers in the research process for disaster management to support the implementation of the AADMER Work Program.

ADPC is committed to the ASEAN member states including local, national and regional entities, non-governmental organizations, donors and development partners in addressing the disaster risks and managing it for sustainable development.
