The 3rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees of ADPC

ADPC held its 3rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees on 27 February 2002 at AIT, Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting was chaired by H E Professor Dr Krasae Chanawongse, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Vice-Chair Honorable Corazon Alma G De Leon. The meeting was attended by eleven Board members including H E Mr Yan Ting’ai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China; H E Mr Klauspeter Schmallenbach, Ambassador and Head of Delegation, European Commission, Thailand; H E Mrs Leela K Ponappa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of India; and H E Mr Do Ngoc Son, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Vietnam. Special invitees included Mr Tom Brennan, Senior Regional Advisor, OFDA/USAID, Philippines; Prof Jean-Louis Armand, President, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; Mr John Griffin, Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy; and Mr Stephen Walker, First Secretary, Australian Embassy.

The Board approved the ADPC Personnel Policy Manual as well as the 2002 budget. It also approved the direction in which ADPC is moving, focusing on disaster reduction, mitigation and preparedness at community, national, and regional levels, as recommended in the second RCC review.
