Disaster Reduction Program for Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam (DRP-CLV) Updates The Disaster
Reduction Program for Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam (DRP-CLV) started its
implementation in January 2002 for a period of 17 months. The Program aims
to reduce the vulnerability of communities in the three target countries
through enhancement of existing institutional and individual capacities
for disaster management, preparedness and mitigation, to help minimize
loss of life, injury, human suffering and damage to property caused by
natural, technological and man-made disasters.

Preliminary meetings with the three countries’ ambassadors in Bangkok have established ties at a high level and meetings have been held about the Program with relevant ministers in the three countries. Discussions with National Disaster Management Offices have also taken place to initiate needs analyses in each country. |
