ADPC attends the observance of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) and ASEAN Day for Disaster Management in Ha Long, Viet Nam

Ha Long, Viet Nam – ADPC attends the observance of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) and ASEAN Day for Disaster Management at Bai Chay Secondary School in Ha Long, Viet Nam. This event was organized by the Viet Nam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority (ADDMA) of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on 13 October 2023 in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Hanoi. This was attended by the ministers and senior officials of Disaster Management organizations in the ASEAN region, ASEAN Secretariat and international organizations.

ADPC TEAM MEETS WITH GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

Delhi, India – As the Chair of the ADPC Board of Trustees, Government of India’s collaboration and guidance will enable new pathways for ADPC to enhance regional cooperation for managing disaster risks in the region as well as demonstrate new-age solutions for managing disaster risks.

Uniting South Asia for Enhanced Readiness and Anticipatory Action: Highlights from the SNAP South Asia Program Launch and Policy Dialogue

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Colombo, Sri Lanka, became the center for South Asia's disaster preparedness initiatives on 13-14 December 2023 with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) launching the regional program on "Sustainable National Anticipatory Actions through Preparedness (SNAP) in South Asia" in collaboration with the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance. Hosted by the Disaster Management Center (DMC) Sri Lanka, the workshop drew vital decision makers and senior disaster management practitioners from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka representing the National Disaster Management Organizations, Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies, civil society organizations, and national response agencies.
