Dr. Pashupati Chaudhary has earned a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Science from University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA and a Master’s degree in Sustainable International Development focusing ecology and natural resource management from Brandeis University, USA. Apart from his roles as Director of Program Operations, Team Leader, grant writer, project manager and project evaluator spanning nearly 20 years in NGOs, INGOs, and UN organizations, he has contributed as a short-term Expert in several climate change, biodiversity conservation and food security-related work such as Volunteer Chapter Scientist for IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (Zero Order Draft phase only); Agriculture Expert for drafting Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector of Nepal’s Third National Communication Report on Climate Change; Global Project Coordinator for Community Resilience to Climate Change project implemented in 12 countries across Asia, Africa and LA; Thematic Leader of ‘Future interdependence of plant genetic resources due to climate change’ theme for Genetic Resource and Policy Initiative project; co-author of ‘Country Profile of Climate-smart Agriculture in Nepal’, Adjunct Professor at the Agriculture and Forestry University, Chitwan, Nepal; Climate Change Adaptation Specialist in FAO and Knowledge Management Expert in UNDP; Climate Change Vulnerability and Risk Assessment Specialist for Nepal’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP); and Proposal development for Green Climate Fund (GCF), USAID, and UK-AID. He has contributed to over 100 articles, including over three dozen peer-reviewed journal articles, two dozen book chapters, and several proceeding articles, periodicals, and blog articles. He has served as reviewer of manuscripts for over 20 international journals. He has also co-supervised three PhD and nine Masters students.
