Asian Disaster Preparedness Center’s Executive Director Mr. Shane Wright met with the Honorable Sushil Koirala, Prime Minister of Nepal to discuss the recovery after the devastating earthquake that struck the country on 25 April 2015.

Since the earthquake, ADPC has been providing the Nepalese government with technical support in the response to and recovery from the disaster, and Mr. Koirala welcomed ADPC’s support during the upcoming reconstruction and rehabilitation programs.

During the meeting, Mr. Wright and Mr. Koirala discussed the establishment of an effective disaster management system in Nepal and the strengthening of the government’s disaster risk reduction capacity to ultimately build a disaster-resilient nation.
