ADPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) of Viet Nam to promote the sharing of information, experiences and good practices related to disaster risk reduction.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Vice Minister of MARD and Mr. Hans Guttman, Executive Director of ADPC signed the MoU at a Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction Ceremony on 12 October ahead of International Day for Disaster Reduction that is celebrated worldwide on 13 October.

Both ADPC and MARD will work together to strengthen risk governance mechanisms, improve people's livelihoods and manage riverbank and coastline adaptations to climate change. Support will also be extended to Viet Nam’s private sector to enhance business resiliency as well as the health and education sector programs to promote safer schools and hospitals against disasters.
