Asian Disaster Preparedness Center and the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s (IPPF) South Asia Regional Office will conduct the second regional training course on the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health in Crisis Situations on 25–29 April 2016 in Bangkok.
Customized for reproductive health coordinators from across the Asian region, the training contributes to establishing a regional pool of resources on reproductive health in emergencies.
“ADPC works to ensure that sexual and reproductive health issues are effectively addressed in times of disasters. Through this collaboration we want to secure crucial sexual and reproductive health services for vulnerable populations,” says ADPC’s Executive Director a.i. Dr. Jingjai Hanchanlash.
Funded by the Australian government, the training belongs under the IPPF’s Sexual Reproductive Health Programme in Crisis and Post-Crisis Situations (SPRINT) that promotes access to essential lifesaving sexual and reproductive health services in times of crises. ADPC and IPPF-SPRINT conducted their first joint training course in 2015.
“Capacity building is one of the key pillars of an effective humanitarian response and we at IPPF-SPRINT value this partnership with ADPC. We believe that good training builds resilient communities and health workers,” states Ms. Anjali Sen, Regional Director of the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s South Asia Regional Office.
The International Planned Parenthood Federation is a global service provider and a leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights for all.
